Join Us Sunday March 18 for "Helping Each Other"

On Sunday, March 18th, Spirit of Life Unitarian Universalists congregational committees will lead a service titled, "Helping Each Other" . All of our congregational committees work hard to keep the church going and to enrich the lives of the members and visitors. But what does that mean? How can a committee -a word that can send shivers down the spine of the most intrepid volunteer! - enrich your life? This Sunday, each of our committees will share how their work helps us create a spiritual home, and how much fun they have doing it!

Youth classes and adult discussion begin at 10 A.M. In Adult Discussion, our topic is "Spring's Sprung!"  Or about to – what are your favorite outdoor spaces and places and why?  What’s the role of nature in your life? Join us for coffee and conversation after the service.

Spirit of Life Unitarian Universalists is covenantal faith community in Odessa that welcomes seekers from all spiritual, theological and philosophical backgrounds who wish to join in a free, rational and responsible search for truth and meaning in their lives. Now through January we will be worshiping outside, in our covered Pavilion, except in extremely cold or inclement weather.

Sunday, January 29, at 11 AM, Join us to Consider "Margaret Fuller and UU Heroines"

This Sunday, January 29, at 11 AM, Rev. Alec Craig leads us on an examination of the many gifts from women to Unitarian Universalism.  Traditionally, Unitarians and Universalists were among the first religious denominations welcoming the ordination of women and, consequently, many early women's suffrage and women's civil rights leaders were born of our faith.

It's open topic day in Adult Discussion at 10 AM, where we'll muse where our interests take us!  Join us for coffee and conversation at 10, and again after service, to join in some shared time together.

On New Years Day - "Do What You Can"

Join us New Year's morning at 11 AM to hear a reading of Rev. Peter Fredrich's sermon "Do What You Can."  The late Rev. Forrest Church, challenged us to "Want what you have; do what you can; be who you are."  A few weeks ago, we consider "wanting what we have." Today, on the first day of 2012, we'll look at how to "Do what we can," and ask you: "Are you doing all that you can?"

It's open topic day in Adult Discussion at 10 AM, where we'll muse where our interests take us!  Join us for coffee and conversation at 10, and again after service, to join in some shared time together.

Join us Sunday, Dec. 11, to consider "Here and Now, and Moving On"

Rev. Alec Craig leads us on a journey with the Star Wheel. The winter holidays are upon us, he notes. "Are you ready?"

Youth programs and Adult Discussion begin at 10 A.M. In Adult Discussion, our topic is, "The Role of Uncertainty in our Lives." Hermant Mehta, author of "I Sold My soul on Ebay," writes of his journey to atheism, " All religions were trying to answer questions they didn't have the answers to.  What was wrong with not knowing?" Join us in the Kerwin Reading Room at 10am to ponder that question.

After service, join us for our December Peace Vigil at the corner of Burrell Road & Tarpon Springs Road, to share holiday messages of tolerance and understanding.
